Social Food Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 26, 2026

Social Food helps users scan fridge photos and receive ingredient and meal suggestions.

Information We Process

When you choose to scan a fridge photo, Social Food sends that selected image to our backend service so it can identify visible ingredients and suggest meals. You may also enter ingredient names manually inside the app. Social Food does not require an account in this version.

How We Use Information

We use selected fridge photos and ingredient text to identify likely ingredients, suggest recipes or meal ideas, and show editable ingredient lists inside the app.

AI Processing

Selected fridge photos are processed through our backend and a third-party AI provider to generate ingredient and recipe suggestions. AI results may be incomplete or incorrect, so users should review and edit the ingredient list.

What We Do Not Do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use fridge photos for advertising targeting. We do not require users to create an account to use the current version of Social Food.

Data Retention

The current app is designed to process fridge photos for the scan request and return suggestions. We do not intentionally store fridge photos in the app database in this version.

Children

Social Food is not intended for children under 13.
